Integration project of the Wetterbaum Foundation

The Wetterbaum Foundation, based in Frauenfeld, has been helping recipients of social assistance and disability benefits to integrate professionally and socially since 2007. Of the 50 Wetterbaum jobs, 18 are at karep.ch.

The employees of karep.ch repair customers' fully automatic coffee machines. They are trained by experienced professionals in how to first disassemble coffee machines, then clean them, and after some time, even partially repair them independently. Karep.ch also collects used coffee machines throughout Switzerland. Machines that are still usable are completely overhauled and resold. Employees assemble a fully functional machine from two or three old coffee machines, which is then sold in the shop (online and in-store) with a one-year warranty. Usable parts from the machine are stored in the warehouse. Both the repair services and the coffee machines are offered at market prices.

In addition to meaningful work with a structured daily routine, employees also receive job coaching support. Around half of the employees participating in job coaching find employment in the primary labor market.
